Teaching art is privilege, but the work put in at school can rob you of time and energy that could be used in the studio, especially when you teach K-8. I’ve tried to use my lesson planning as an outlet to create, but nothing beats working in one’s sketchbook or directly on a canvas. That said, I’m proud and so grateful to have been able to complete four paintings plus a few random examples I finished through the course of several classes.
